About the Role

We are looking for a top scientist or engineer supporting our ongoing innovation work. Job functions will include:

  • Conducting independent research with deterministic, statistical, and hybrid models for process data in close collaboration with industrial clients and our interdisciplinary team.
  • Developing, deploying, and maintaining process model implementations across multiple projects and software applications deployed in-house and on-premise with industrial clients.
Requirements

Excellent university degree (at least Master’s, preferably PhD) in computer science, (bio)informatics, (bio)statistics or chemical/bioengineering.

Expertise in modeling of time series data and/or dynamic process data.

  • Would be a plus: Fundamental understanding of biopharmaceutical processes including unit operations such as cell cultures, chromatography, filtration and virus inactivation. 
  • Would be a plus: Experience in numeric solutions of complex ODE and PDE systems and/or mathematical optimization problems. 

Coding experience in Python. 

  • Would be a plus: Experience with the Python Data Science stack (Numpy, Pytorch, Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc).
  • Would be a plus: Project experience using Git.
  • Would be a plus: Experience in Julia programming.
  • Project experience in data analytics and machine learning.
  • Motivation to work in an internationally active start-up company
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Responsibility, creativity, imaginative thinking, enthusiasm.
  • Capability of teamwork and proactive independent research work.
